LN1 Healesville Sanctuary Excursion

LN1 are going on an excursion to the Healesville Sanctuary.
This will be a wonderful and rich learning opportunity for our students and they are expected to attend as it is part of their learning.
Apart from general viewing students will participate in a day run education session titled Aussie Animal Adventure.

During the excursion students will:

  • have opportunities to make emotional connections with animals and the natural world through facilitated activities and actively exploring the natural spaces around them
  • learn about different kinds of animals and their body coverings, features, habitats and life cycles
  • be supported to create their own personal learning journey, working in small groups and asking questions
  • discover Australian animals from an Aboriginal perspective

The experience will also provide students with the opportunity to see Australian wildlife up close, including some of our local endangered species and experience our Spirits of the Sky and Tales from Platypus Creek shows
